I’m LanceMD (Metal Dad) and I’m the owner/founder/designer/insanity behind metaldads.com. I’m a dad (and grand dad) and I LOVE Heavy Metal. I love all metal actually. My favorite is thrash metal, but I also have love for speed metal, death metal, hair metal, classic metal, New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, etc. It’s All Metal!
Why is the site called Metal Dads if there’s only one of me? Because it’s not about me. It’s about all of us metal dads. Just because we’re dads, doesn’t mean we stop rocking out. We may be too old for the pit, but we’re not too old to crank up our favorite metal from the 70s, 80s and beyond! I’m looking to create a community of older heavy metal loving dads and normalize (as much as us metal heads want to be “normal”) older guys loving heavy metal.
My love for heavy metal started in the 80s when I first hear Motley Crue’s Too Fast For Love. Then came Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, Metallica, Venom, AC/DC and then….then came SLAYER! I lived and breathed the Big 4 and started to seek out heavier, faster and crazier.
I still found space in my ears to listen to glam metal, hair metal and all the other metals while listening to the heavier stuff. I even found love in my heart and ears for Pagan Metal, Viking Metal and even Folk Metal…
